Fun fact: for most residential jobs people hire a 4 or a 6 cubic metre skip bin. Most don't fill them full but they have the space there if they need it. Depending on the weight of the items you put in it some extra charges can apply. But to give you an upfront guide – on average most bins weigh 150kg per cubic metre and we have priced our bins to allow for you to use 150kg per cubic metre without incurring any extra weight charges.

What kind of waste can't go in the skip bins?

Not all waste is easily disposed of. The following items cannot go into our bins:

  • Asbestos 

  • Chemicals and explosive or flammable substances

  • Batteries

  • Liquids, food or animal waste ​

  • Contaminated soil

  • Liquid concrete, adhesive substances or corrosive materials (solvents)

  • Medical Waste

How do I choose the right size skip bin?

What items do I need to keep seperate?

The following items may need to be placed in a separate bin. ​

What sized bins do most people require?

4 and 6 cubic metre bins are the most popular.

What is the hire period?

Our skip bin hire period is up to 14 days. Fees will be incurred after 14 days charged at $16.50 per day. 

How much does an average skip bin load weigh?

150kg per cubic metre is the average weight. We provision to give you this much space in our quote and for most people it is enough. If you do go over that weight the cost is $38.50 per $100 kg (or $385 per ton.)
